BACKGROUND

We've heard countless times how exercise is “good for you”. But if people overusing their muscle, they may injuring the muscle while engaging in physical exercise. Muscle sprains and strains are both injuries that can cause muscle aches and pain.

PROBLEM

As soon as you have muscle aches, home treatment is important. Muscle aches often respond well to home treatment. Loosening up your muscles can be very effective at relieving some of the tension that you feel which in turn will decrease the aches that you experience.

CONCEPT

This concept makes use of functional textiles such as electro-thermal isolation yarn as well as the principle of electromagnetic induction. A coil and magnets are placed inside the kneepad to form a small electricity generator. The energy storage device can store induction-generated energy during exercise, and release heat energy to comfort aches and relieve fatigue afterward. The device heats up electro-thermal yarn, which can relax leg muscles after exercise.
